London, Toys and more babies

This weekend we went to London and Daddy took me on an electric underground train. It was very hot and Daddy took my t-shirt off so I wandered round in my vest! We went to a big toy shop and Daddy bought me a new train for my wooden railway called Spencer. We bought Mila some squeezy farm animals in a bag and she liked them. Then we went to see Katherine & Phil's new baby - even Daddy thought she was cute!

Today, Mummy and Daddy and I took Mila to nursery and then went to York to visit the Rail Museum. I have never seen so many trains - big, huge massive steam trains and tiny weeny model diesels. THere was even a working model where you could practise being a signal man. I cried when we had to leave that bit. Then we went up in a big wheel and saw the boats on the river and even more trains going in and out of York station. And we got a road train into the town centre to have lunch and Mummy got sad because there were lovely shops and I think she was a bit bored after the first few trains! We all had burgers and milkshakes for lunch and it was really nice.

My Birthday Party

Today I had my 3rd birthday party and it was BRILLIANT! We had a lady come and do some singing and games. My favourite song was the tractor one where we all had to hold steering wheels and drive round in a circle. Lots of my friends came and they bought me lovely presents. None of my cousins could come which made me a bit sad, but Max has sent his present and Becky and Archie came so it is ok!
Mummy made a fantastic cake that looked like a car, but Daddy didn't take a phot of it before it was cut, so you will have to imagine it!
Tomorrow I get to play with Archie some more, then on Monday (when I am 3!) I get another cake at playgroup and then Granny and Grandpa are coming over to see me. Then on Tuesday, Grandma and Grandad are coming to give me their present. It will all be exhausting but well worth the effort of ripping off paper!!!

Mila is a big girl

Today, when Daddy took me to nursery, we took Mila as well. We dropped her off first so that I could see the baby room. It doesn't look like as much fun as the toddler room. She cried a bit, but I think that was because she didn't want me to go.
Apparently Mummy has been looking forward to today for quite a while but I can't imagine why!

Lemmings and dragons and all sorts!

Today Mummy took Mila and I to Tropical World to meet Auntie Caroline and Thomas. There were all sorts of animals, from butterflies, to kimono dragons and waterfalls and all sorts. We had to wait ages for lunch though and Mummy got annoyed because the sign posting to the toilets is RUBBISH!!!

Now that Mila is going to nursery on a Wednesday, Mummy and I are all by ourselves which I like a lot. Today we went on an adventure to Ogden Water. We were hoping to go Pond Dipping, but the pond wasn't ready so we went on a minibeast hunt instead. We found all sorts - woodlice, bees, ants, baby frogs, baby toads, slugs, snails, centipedes, millipedes!!! It was really cool but the minibeast that Mummy and I didn't like very much was the midges - very munchy...

I know lots more signs than Mila does. She can only do bird and duck, although she can roar like a lion which is quite cool! Mummy's favourite one is Hippo. I can't describe it so you will have to ask me to show you!!

Today I went to the dentist again. He has a very cool chair and seems to think that I have a complete set of teeth now. Mummy didn't even know that there were some missing last time! Mummy says that eventually they will fall out - I can't wait for that!!!!!

Granny & Grandpa are closer

Today we went to see Granny & Grandpa in their new house. Great-Grandma hasn't moved in yet but she has two rooms all to herself. Mila's room is very pink, but my room has stacking beds. Apparently I will have to share it with Max when he comes over, but that is ok as long as I can have the bottom one! Mummy says that their new house is much closer so we should see them more often... Goody!!

This week Daddy has not been to work and I haven't been to nursery. We went a long way on the motorway and when I woke up we were in Scotland. Apparently we won't see THomas the Tank Engine up here as he lives in England. This is very disappointing.
We have been to see a cool boat wheel thing at a place called Falkirk and a castle and a safari park. I am quite tired now and am looking forward to everything going back to normal!

For the first time, I went to play by myself today. Alex's Mummy collected me from playgroup and we went back to his house for lunch and for playing. Mummy was worried that I might not eat or might have an accident but it was all fine and I think she worries too much!

Today my new cousin was born - Erin Saskia came a bit early - after her Mummy fell down the stairs and broke her toe! She was 5lb 7oz which is apparently quite little. She is a bit dull at the moment and all she does is sleep and eat. Hopefully she will be better to play with when she is a bit bigger!

Today I went to playgroup for the first time. I get to play with lots of new children but some of them are much bigger than me. We get to play at the sand and water tables, we get to do painting and drawing, but my favourite thing is to play with the trains and the cars. I also like the dinosaurs but they would be better with wheels on! I love playing with Antonia and Sam and I really like it when Mummy stays to help.

Today I did something that Mummy though was very very cute. When I was sitting eating my breakfast, I dropped a bit of porridge on my lovely new Thomas the Tank Engine pyjamas and said: "No Thomas, porridge not for you!".

Today Mummy told me that I was a big boy and I wouldn't wear nappies in the day any more. She bought me some Bob the Builder pants to wear and I am very proud of them. I think I need a bit of practice, but I am very excited about doing all my wees and poos on the potty as I get sweeties!

Today we went in an aeroplane to see Auntie Kate, Uncle Klemens, Max and Leonie. It was lots of fun and we went ZOOOOOOMMMMMM!! The only bad bit was that Daddy didn't come with us and that made me sad.
When we got to Austria, Auntie Kate took us to their new house (well - not new for them, but new for me!!). The last time we saw it, there were just walls and no windows which didn't look like a very good house to me, but now it is brilliant! Max has a playroom down in the basement with lots of cool toys.
The best bit was Max's birthday party when we all dressed up as pirates. We had lots of fun visiting and even got McDonalds for the first time!

Today we arrived in Cornwall on our second holiday this summer! We are staying in a lovely hotel and the people are lovely. They even made me a luke warm hot chocolate so I could join in with Mummy's tea!
There is loads for me to do - inside and outside play areas, a train table, children's entertainers and lots of children to play with.
Tomorrow Mummy is going surfing and Daddy and I are going to watch (and laugh!!!) then we are going to go and see a lighthouse.

Jumping

I can now jump!! I have been practising for ages and now when I jump both my feet leave the floor and come down again at the same time. It means that I can jump up and down next to Amelia when she is in her door bouncer and make her laugh - lots of fun!!

It is official - I am gorgeous!!!
I was plucked from the crowd today so that a nice lady could take photos of my for the Eden Project website. She gave me a lovely hat, scarf and gloves set to wear and i did my very best cute face for her. Lots of people stood round and watched me being cute and were very impressed at my good behaviour. Mummy and Daddy were more shocked than impressed, but they didn't realise i was a born poser!!

My introduction to the world of toilets

Following my success with weeing on the potty, I decided to use the toilet while we were on holiday in Cornwall. By some strange chance I produced solid results on 3 separate occasions. Mummy was so proud that she told a complete stranger over dinner!!!

Today I had another birthday party today and more presents!! Grandma, Grandad, Uncle Neil, Auntie Lisa, Ben, Uncle Mike, Auntie Caroline and Thomas all came round and ALL brought me presents. I now think that I should get presents every day which may be a problem for Mummy and Daddy when tomorrow comes!
I got some brilliant presents - little cars and a ball from Ben and a super plastic mechano set from Grandma and Grandad.
We had more cake and more singing and I now really like birthdays!!

Today is my birthday!!
I have had a party and a cake and balloons and presents and everything!! I even got to sing Happy Birthday, which is my favourite thing in the world at the moment. Mummy and Daddy gave me a NinkyNonk and I have played with it ever since I unwrapped it.
Mummy made me a brilliant cake like a train and she invited Jasmine and Oscar, Alex and Niamh. We played pass the parcel and sang some songs and I had a lovely time. I was so excited that by bed time I was absolutely exhausted and was asleep before Mummy closed my bedroom door - I am now 2.

I'm forever blowing bubbles!!!

Mummy has been trying to teach me to blow bubbles for ages and I have not been able to understand how to do it, but today, suddenly it all became clear and I managed to blow some brilliant bubbles. One of them hit Amelia and made her cry but I think she was just jealous that she can't blow bubbles yet - except spit ones!!!

Today Mummy, Daddy, Mila and I went on an exciting journey. We went through lots of tunnels and saw lots of lorries and moo cows and all sorts. The journey was lots of fun, but getting here is even better. I get to play with my cousin Max all day for a week. I also have a new cousin that I have only met once before called Leo but she doesn't do much yet.
The beach is brilliant - Daddy, Max, Klemens and I have been making sandcastles and going rock pooling and everything! Mummy is being very dull - she keeps going to sleep, anyone would think she was tired. She has played with me a bit though and I love the spinning game.

My new trick for this week is to use personal pronouns. This means that I can now shout MINE at the top of my voice everytime I want something! I can also tell Mummy to "CHASE ME" or "TICKLE ME" whenever I want, instead of saying "chase danny" or "tickle danny".

Today, I thought that I would try out a new trick so I told Daddy that I needed a wee and when he sat me on on the toilet, I did my business. I was very proud of myself, as were Mummy and Daddy. I don't think Mummy is ready to potty train me just yet though so I won't do it again for a few months!!

I am just starting to mind my manners now, which means that i have started having to use three words in my sentences. I am still a bit naughty occasionally, but i know what the magic word is and occasionally i remember to use it!

I can now use two word sentences. I mainly use them to order Mummy to do something - "sit down", "open window", "get down", but I still find one word commands as effective: "Juice!" etc. I only seem to know one tense and that is imperative. I know loads of words now and am using my Mr Men books (that Daddy reads me at bed time) to learn lots of adjectives. Bumpy is currently my favourite and I use it a lot while I am in the car with Mummy on roads in Yorkshire.

Today, for the first time, I didn't cry and hold onto Mummy when she dropped me off at nursery. I quite like going there now and I love spending time with Emma (my carer). I have made friends with some of the other children - mostly the girls and now like to list them while having breakfast in the morning before we set off. Mummy is very relieved that I am happy at nursery as it is not long until my "baby sister" is due. I don't know what that means, but I am not going to worry about it until it happens!

A few days ago, Mummy's hot tub arrived and Daddy filled it with water... Aunty Becka thought that they arrived on the lorry full of warm water, but apparently they don't as it might spill on the motorway!! Today it was warm enough to go in and we all had a swim. It is lots of fun and I like jumping in and out and splashing Mummy and Daddy. Hopefully we will be able to go in very often as it gets warmer.

New nursery and new friends...

I have started a new nursery today and have met my new carer called Emma. I am not sure about it so far, but Mummy and Daddy tell me I will get to like it as much as my old one.
There are lots of little girls and boys to play with and some brilliant toys, but i like the mini-beast hunting the best... especially when we find slugs!

We have moved house!! We now live in lovely Yorkshire. It has rained every time we have come here so far, but Mummy assures me that sometimes it is sunny. I hope so!! My new house is lots of fun. There is no furniture and i can run round in circles - kitchen, hall, lounge, deck, kitchen - all day long!

After a slow start with talking, I am adding to my new vocab every day!! I started with "duck", "cup" and "tractor" and can now identify and ask for "bowl", "cup", "car" and "shark". Of course my favourite words are still "daddy", "mummy" and "baby"!!!

I have been practising a LOT and now I can load my fork/spoon and get it into my mouth almost every time!! Mummy has to help me with the last few pesky bits of cereal in the mornings, but I am fiercly independent and resent sharing my spoon with anyone!!! I think Mummy is hoping that I will soon learn to clean myself (and the table, highchair and floor) afterwards!

Getting more mobile

Danny is now rolling in earnest - on the changing mat, in the bath, off Mummy's lap... He is also slithering around on his belly, which he gets to by just falling over sideways from sitting up. His newest trick is cruising and he has also started to walk holding one hand instead of two. He still could not be discribed as stable but what he lacks in ability, he makes up for with enthusiasm!!
